Castaway XP3 Casting Series Technology means challenge and what a challenge it has been. New for 2004 we are offering what we think could be a whole new conecpt in blank technology. Our new Tri Modulus blank has been tested to the maximum power for strength and durability but more importantly agreater level of sensitivity.

Also new for Castaway this year is the New Concept Guide System by Fuji. Fuji's new guide concept has been proven to give a better hook set, more line control, along with better accuracy and distance. The XP3 Series is equipped with Oxide Diamonmd polished ultra smooth inserts.

    Castaway XP3 DD22 Special Crankbait rod.
    If you like deep cranking and need a rod that's built to do the job, look no further. This rod is a fantastic crankbait rod. It has the backbone you need for power and also has the soft give you need to keep that fish buttoned up all the way to the boat. This is a great rod!

    Biggest Advantage
    Light for a big rod, launches your bait a mile, nice finish and clean look, long handle, perfect blend of power and action needed for crankbait fishing, not too heavy for medium cranks.

    Biggest Disadvantage
    No hook keeper built in but mine came with one of the rubber ones already on it and it works fine if you absolutely have to have one.

    Their Question: does the shc8-x have a long handle for casting further distances using my abu garcia record reel? will it cast 1 - 2 oz. baits? Your help is really appreciated..thanks
