Abel Big Game Fly Reels Call them "traditional," call them "workhorses" or "war horses," they are a 17-year old design that's as fresh as today's newspaper. They were innovative when we introduced them in 1987 and even better today.

All standard Big Games come with a solid frame. Ported frames are available at a modest additional charge.

Anti/Reverse Models (A/R)
What's an Anti/Reverse Reel? The handle doesn't turn when line goes out . . . thus no lost fish when a whirling handle meets your knuckles. Abel A/Rs are lightweight, utilize a unique ball bearing design, and have fewer moving parts than our competitors. Each A/R reel comes with its own finger wrench for removing the spool.

Line and backing capacities are the same as Big Game models in the same size.
